Pet Peeves (Ma’am)

So I am 22 years old and I work with the public so like every single day I have someone say to me, “Yes ma’am” or “No Ma’am” etc. And for some unknown reason this irks me to no end. Like on a scale of 1-100 of irkyness this is like a 85… I hate it. Mostly because the people who call me ma’am are either A) older than me… no not like elderly people who are being nice like 25 year olds… (Seriously we went to school together do not call me MA’AM) or B) Snotty little teenagers who think they are being cute by calling me ma’am… (really you aren’t) I don’t know why it bothers me so much but I am still young and I don’t want aged any faster than I have to be… so when someone calls me ma’am it just gets under my skin.. I mean I am not even married… I don’t want to be old until I have to be so when you met me…please don’t call me ma’am.

So We Beat On, Boats Against The Current, Borne Back Ceaselessly into the Past

“If you were going to take a journey and could only put 5 things in your backpack, what would they be? Why? ” (this is a blog prompt from mindbump.com the user who suggested this blog doesn’t exists anymore but if you find this and it was you, Thanks!)

Okay so if I were going to a journey and I was packing a backpack to take me what would I put into it and why?:

1) The Great Gatsby: Why exactly would I want to take a book with me and why exactly would it be this book. Well first off this book to me represents a very important time in my life. The end of my senior year and the time in my life where I realized just how deep my love for written word is. To me this book is very special it not only is one of my very favorite books by one of my very favorite authors but it reminds me of a time in my life when I was happier. Its very special to me so that is why I would want it with me, and plus then I’ll have something to read.

“Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter – tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms further… And one fine morning –

So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past. ” -F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

To me this book not only defines a period in my life but to me the end of the book is a sign of hope that no matter the past we just have to keep pushing forward.

2) Notebook and pen/pencil w/ sharpener: If you are seriously going to ask me why I would bring this with me you are more nuts than one thought! Seriously, of course this would be on my list what better way for me to keep track of everything that has happened to me. I would want tot write everything. What better way to tell the world of my journeys than to write them all down!

3) Camera w/ batteries: Again this one is common sense. For those times when you have to see it to believe it there you have it. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words well for those times in which my words escape me, photography!

4) Photo Album w/ pictures of family and friends: Another more self explanatory one, I get homesick and when I don’t want to miss those that I love I can pull this bad boy out and BAM there they are with there smiling faces letting me know that I am okay and that I can do this, they will be there for me when I get home or…they are already over head watching over me as I go.

5) Water Bottle: Well…. DUH I don’t want to die of thirst do I? Plus water is sooooo good. 🙂

Now you might be asking yourselves, why the hell do you want to bring all this shit and no food no way to get food like knives or even money.  Well lets see… you can make things to make it so that you can find food berries, plants, etc. And if I were someplace I needed money, Hello its called a job. I’d rather bring things with me that I can’t just find for myself!

-What about you…what would you bring?
